Overview

Tokyo Disney Resort®, Skiing and Shopping

Are you looking for a family ski holiday with a dash of Disney magic? Spend 3 nights at the Karuizawa Prince Hotel West in the eastern Nagano prefecture. This region boasts 90% sunny days throughout the season – perfect for families who like clear skies. The resort’s advanced snow-making facilities ensure you’ll always be able to hit the slopes. And when you need a break from the slopes you can hit the shops! The 240-shop Karuizawa Prince Shopping Complex offers a great respite from the ski action.

This tour caters to complete beginners. Your lift pass, skis and clothing are all included, and a licensed English-speaking instructor will teach you everything you need to know. It’s skiing made easy and hassle-free.

The fun begins in Tokyo Disney Resort, home to the best theme parks in the world. Then, swap Mickey Mouse ears for ski poles, as the bullet train rockets you to Mount Asama!

We recommended this tour for families who’d like another option should the kids (or the parents!) need a break from the snow. Karuizawa is a great place to simply enjoy the winter atmosphere.

DAY 2Tokyo > Tokyo Disney Resort®, Urayasu > Tokyo

Day trip to Tokyo Disney Resort®

  • Meals: Breakfast
  • Stay: Daiwa Roynet Hotel Tokyo Ariake (Executive Room) or similar

It’s Disney time! This tour offers the flexibility of letting your family choose between a day at Tokyo Disneyland® or Tokyo DisneySea®. Whichever park you choose, you’ll enjoy a “must-see” Disney experience combined with first-class Japanese hospitality.
Tokyo Disneyland® is the first Disney Park built outside of the US. It is modelled closely after the original parks in California. Recommended if you want the classic Disneyland experience and haven’t been to the parks in the US and have younger kids.
Tokyo DisneySea® is the second park at the resort. With more rides aimed at slightly older kids and different lands to see, we recommend DisneySea if you’ve already visited the parks in the US and have older kids.
Whichever park you choose, you’ll enjoy a “must-see” Disney experience combined with first-class Japanese hospitality.
A private mini-bus will take you to this unforgettable experience
After a day of Disney magic, make your way back to the hotel by local train with the prepaid IC cards provided.

  • Stay: Karuizawa Prince Hotel | West Premium Wing (Deluxe Terrace Room)

After breakfast, it’s time to take your first steps into the world of skiing! An English-speaking instructor will start your family on the right track with a 2-hour ski lesson, teaching you all the basics to give you the confidence to explore.

Your first day of skiing is bound to result in sore muscles. So take advantage of the resort’s indoor onsen (hot spring), where you can relax and reflect on a fantastic day.

DAY 5Karuizawa

Second day of skiing

  • Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
  • Stay: Karuizawa Prince Hotel | West Premium Wing (Deluxe Terrace Room)

With a little training under your belt, it’s time to head out and try your new skills on the mountain. There’s no pressure; take it slow and steady!
First, familiarise yourself with the trails of the mountain. We recommend the trails marked with a green dot. That indicates they’re designed for beginners. The other trails are for more advanced skiers – perhaps on your next holiday!
There’s nothing better than exploring the snowy landscape with your family. You can take in the views together, laugh at each other when you fall and help each other get back up again. Skiing is a great bonding experience – no matter what your skill level is.
After a massive day on the mountain, you’re sure to be exhausted. Enjoy an included farewell buffet dinner at the hotel and relax (and maybe have another soak in the onsen!)
